A Cameraman Takes a Tumble in “The Professionals” while “The Habit” Reminisces in Season 2 Finale

 New Episodes Airing May 9–15

DENVER (May 5, 2016) – Sportsman Channel offers viewers a plethora of sportsman action during the week of May 9–15, from hunting elk in the water, to Florida fishing, to mountain-top deer hunts.

First up, G.O. Heath in North American Whitetail alleviates some off-season steam on wild hogs in Texas while Pat Hogan and James Kroll wrap up this year’s Build Your Own Deer Factory project and Mike Clerkin provides tips for more accurate crossbow shooting. Next, Jim Shockey’s The Professionals take on the Peruvian Andes – at an altitude of 14,000 feet, this mountain range is the most difficult and dangerous place to hunt for whitetail deer on the planet. Danger comes to fruition for The Professionals when a cameraman falls more than 50 feet off the edge of a cliff. Then, Friday night airs Easton Bowhunting TV where Michele Eichler hunts elk in the water, with the prerogative of proving that women can shoot elk just as easily as men can shoot elk.

Saturday evening offers viewers a Bear Archery Marathon, airing episodes from three hit series – Trained Assassins, Pigman: The Series and Fred Bear: Father of Bowhunting. Don’t miss this overload of bowhunting programming and expertise. Next, Captain George Gozdz explores Florida’s culturally rich and diverse fishing destination, Amelia Island, in Reel Time with Florida Sportsman. Finally, Sunday evening airs the season finale of The Habit where Chuck, Jon, and JP reminisce on their favorite bowfishing trips throughout the past several years.

Adam LaRoche Takes His Son Hunting; “Top Shot” Trick Shots; a Timeless Western and Season 1 Finale of “Alaska’s Wild Gourmet”

All New Content Airing May 9–15

DENVER (May 5, 2016) – Outdoor Channel is jam-packed with exciting programming from stirring, outdoor lifestyle series and a movie, during the week of May 9–15.

The network’s popular Monday night programming begins with The Best of Buck Commander airing a 2013 episode where Adam LaRoche takes his 10-year-old son, Drake, on his first bow-hunt while Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean hunt early season whitetail in Texas. The evening continues with Duck Dynasty airing four back-to-back episodes. First, brotherly competition gets the best of Willie when he skips his child’s career day to play golf with Jase. Next, the guys conjure up a plan to build a luxurious duck blind in the sky. Then, Jase builds a new office without Willie’s approval. Finally, it’s the beards vs. the beavers when the guys discover their waterline is low due to the rodents. On Wednesday, the team members in Top Shot attempt ‘trick shots’ with three different guns – shooting behind the back with a mirror, shooting a nail into a board and shooting a thrown object. In the elimination round, the competitors shoot clay pigeons they throw into the air themselves.

Then, viewers will enjoy Friday Night at the Movies airing the 1968 film, Once Upon a Time in the West, an epic story of a mysterious harmonica player who joins forces with a notorious outlaw to protect a widow from a ruthless murderer who also works for the railroad. Next, in the first of three elimination rounds on Major League Fishing, 10 anglers compete to advance in the Shell Rotella Challenge Cup from Lake County, Florida. As the week comes to an end, so does the first season of Alaska’s Wild Gourmet – a show that has grown (+111%) in its Saturday 10 p.m. time slot since its début. In the Season 1 finale, the Ewings are challenged by their remote location to forage materials for an off-the-grid, gourmet meal for a bush pilot’s birthday bash.
