About Our Job:

Job responsibilities will include:

  • Define the imprint strategies and lead the team to deliver on financial and operational performance targets
  • Develop, refine, and drive the editorial vision, goals, and measures of success for the magazine(s)
  • Lead team, fostering a creative, collaborative environment both internally and externally
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop submissions and proposals through a team of editors with the goal of acquiring exceptional work
  • Develop strong partnerships and resources to maximize magazine’s success
  • Identify and define opportunities for growth and strategic partnerships
  • The position requires some travel

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write a crisp and clear narrative to express ideas
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to measure results and interpret data to drive initiatives along with the ability to use compelling data and metrics to influence others
  • An understanding of the latest developments in digital content and formats
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • The ability to take a systems’ view of publishing processes to help interact with production teams
  • Demonstrated success in delivering top results in a high growth environment with ambiguity and shifting priorities
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results by influencing and negotiating
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • An overall understanding of how a Publisher works from editorial acquisition to sales and distribution

  • Four-year college degree required
  • Four or more years of relevant publishing experience in editorial, content acquisition, or rights management businesses
  • Proficient use of Word and Excel
