POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for assisting the marketing team in hospitality, sponsor and angler management, promotions and public relations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coordinating community/company events that drive audience engagement and increase our stature in the community. This full-time role is also responsible for working closely with other departments to support marketing efforts and brand building. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help management in efforts to attract and pitch local, state and national media and proactively respond to media
  • Assist in brand management and development of cohesive brand strategy
  • Provide hospitality 
  • Work with Manager to develop public relations content strategy and release calendar
  • Assist in the creation of marketing digital content pieces that can be deployed across social and web
  • Help develop and support national promotions to excite fans
  • Work to grow the brand through engagement with fans, anglers, and sponsors
  • Assist in creating content for Social Media and web campaigns
  • Network within the community and event communities to promote Major League Fishing
  • Help plan annual media and competition events
  • Help to measure and analyze media coverage and create cohesive reports
  • Manage charity obligations and donation requests 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of marketing or communications experience
  • Marketing, Journalism or Business degree preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with both internal and external audiences
  • Excellent project management and the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience managing company social media properties
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Publisher, Word)
  • Experience with AP Style writing standards
  • Must be self-sufficient, dependable, creative and organized
  • Proficient communication skills
