“Duck Dynasty” Star Willie Robertson Publicly Endorses GOP Presidential Frontrunner Donald Trump during Outdoor Sportsman Awards on January 21 in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (January 21, 2016) – Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump garnered another major endorsement of his campaign when Duck Dynasty star and outdoor lifestyle advocate Willie Robertson – during an appearance at the Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel’s Outdoor Sportsman Awards in Las Vegas at the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show) and Conference – appeared and announced his support for the GOP frontrunner.

Robertson, who along with Trump was a guest at the 16th Annual Outdoor Sportsman Awards show, is part of a constituency in the United States that numbers 134 million strong in advocating and participating in outdoor lifestyle activities. Robertson and his family started their television careers on Outdoor Channel with their Duck Commander and Buck Commander shows. Since then, the family has found wild television success on A&E with Duck Dynasty, which recently began airing Seasons 1-6 in syndication on Outdoor Channel (Mondays at 7 p.m. ET). Willie Robertson continues to commandeer Buck Commander on Outdoor Channel, as well.

Outdoor Sportsman Group Wants You! Seeking the Best Amateur Shooters; American Marksman Registration Now Open

Three-Phase Shooting Competition Will Be Filmed for National Television Show

American-Marksman-Photo-1DENVER (January 19, 2016) – The search has begun for the best amateur shooter in the United States with the opening of registration for American Marksman – a new concept television show and target shooting competition by Outdoor Sportsman Group. American Marksman will give amateur shooters the chance to take part in a nationwide competition and earn their way to a national championship for cash, gear and fame. The competition will begin with local qualifiers starting in March 2016 at various locations across the country.

Registration is now open at AMMarksman.Com. Potential competitors also can register in person by stopping by the American Marksman booth at the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show on January 19-22 at booth L218 located on the lobby level.

American Marksman will keep the cameras rolling throughout three phases: local qualifiers, regional championships and a national championship with the entire process airing exclusively on Outdoor Sportsman Group networks beginning in December 2016.

“If you ever wanted to enter a shooting competition and thought it was too intimidating or too expensive – then this is your chance to show the world what you’ve got,” said producer Michael Bane, Outdoor Channel. “For only $20 at the local level, you get the chance to try to qualify with other amateurs in a relaxed, safe environment and the best of you will meet in a ridiculously cool national championship with TV cameras rolling. The person who earns the title of ‘American Marksman’ walks away with $50,000…so why wouldn’t you register?”

The local qualifying rounds begin in March at nearly 200 ranges in 47 states. Visit http://AMMarksman.Com for the full schedule. The categories of competition include: Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Junior (12-16) and Military/Law Enforcement, with the ultimate winner coming from any of those categories. Each round will feature .22 caliber rim fire courses of fire and as the competitor’s progress, they will be challenged with different calibers, targets and courses of fire. Advancing shooters will go to one of nine regional championships, which begin in June and proceed through August with the National Championship taking place in early 2017.

“The local qualifying level is designed not only to appeal to more seasoned shooters, but also to attract new people into the shooting sports by offering a low-cost and less intimidating way to get involved in competition,” continued Bane.

The nine regional championships will be revealed as locations are finalized. Visit American Marksman on Facebook for regular updates.

Viewers Meet Africa’s Most Deadly Animal on Outdoor Channel’s Original Series “Carter’s W.A.R.” On Monday, January 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT

DENVER (January 14, 2016) – In this week’s episode of Outdoor Channel original series Carter’s W.A.R. (Wildlife Animal Response) presented by Nosler, wildlife investigator, Ivan Carter, brings viewers on his quest to reveal the reality of aggressive tendencies associated with the hippopotamus on Monday, January 18 at 9 p.m. ET.

In Changa, Mozambique, a fishing village on the Zambezi River in Africa, villagers report a hostile hippo and call Carter in for help. The inevitable is at play in a tribal-based area where humans and wildlife live side by side, resulting in conflict.

“So far, all of the victims have been fisherman,” Carter acknowledged. “They are definitely missing; their houses stand empty. But what happened to them? Were they indeed killed by hippos?”

For a sneak peek, click here: Preview

These mammals have the reputation of killing more humans than any other animal. An estimated 3,000 Africans a year are killed from alleged hippopotamus attacks. Are hippos actually dangerous or are these deaths a result of mere circumstances? Find out Monday on the Outdoor Channel.

Season Five of Winchester Deadly Passion Returns Sunday 11:30 a.m. ET on Sportsman Channel

MINNETONKA, MN; (January 8, 2016) — Season five of Winchester Deadly Passion with host Melissa Bachman returns to Sportsman Channel Sundays at 11:30 a.m. ET with a combo antelope – mule deer hunt in Colorado. This early season outing has Bachman bowhunting for antelope and velvety muleys – and even with the pre-rut bachelors running together, this spot and stalk challenges her. Tune in for great footage of big buck muleys on Winchester Deadly Passion, on Sportsman Channel Sunday, January 10 at 11:30 a.m. ET.

Watch a sneak peek here: http://www.thesportsmanchannel.com/shows/winchesters-deadly-passion/

deadlypassion

“Over the years I’m always trying to figure out what hunt is best during what time of year. Late August and early September is a tough time, but I’ve discovered big, velvety mule deer and I’m going after them with Joey Menegatti of Story Creek Outfitters,” said Bachman.

Bachman and Menegatti begin their hunt over a watering hole for antelope. But sitting in a hot blind for 12 hours can test any hunter’s patience. “For some reason, the antelope weren’t even coming in to the watering hole. You need great patience and be mentally tough to sit in a hot blind for this long,” stated Bachman. So the crew switches gears to something more physical – spot and stalking muleys.

Even spot and stalking isn’t a guaranteed way to get a buck as Bachman and Menegatti find themselves within arm’s reach of one opportunity after another. “Viewers I think will appreciate the effort that goes into a spot and stalk bowhunt this early in the season – you have to be patience as maybe one in seven stalks actually works,” concluded Bachman.

Tragedy Strikes on Outdoor Channel’s Original Series “Carter’s W.A.R.” on Monday, January 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT

DENVER (January 7, 2016) – Ivan Carter, host and conservationist, investigates a disastrous attack in this week’s episode of Outdoor Channel’s Carter’s W.A.R. (Wildlife Animal Response) presented by Nosler on Monday, January 11 at 9 p.m. ET.

On the banks of Africa’s Zambezi River, Carter works tirelessly to examine a crocodile attack that has left the waterway’s inhabitants in chaos. This immaculate creature, with innate killer instincts, continuously clashes with its co-habitants – the villagers.

“The wild land and the wildlife are becoming less and less,” admitted Carter. “There are bound to be clashes along the way and, unfortunately, some end in tragedy.”

In some areas of the river, several hundred people a year go missing. Carter and his team investigate to find out why. This week’s episode tries to unravel these questions as Carter continues to reveal truth of the daily life and death struggles between local villagers and the wildlife habitat they share the land with.
