Outdoor Sportsman Group’s MyOutdoorTV Continues Content Acquisition with Realtree’s Vast Programming Library

Bill Jordan from "Bill Jordan's Realtree Outdoors"
Bill Jordan from “Bill Jordan’s Realtree Outdoors”

NEW YORK (August 18, 2017) – Outdoor Sportsman Group (OSG) has acquired the Realtree programming library including Bill Jordan’s Realtree Outdoors with hosts, Bill Jordan, Tyler Jordan and David Blanton; Realtree Roadtrips and Monster Bucks for its outdoor global, subscription-based, video on-demand service MyOutdoorTV (MOTV).

Outdoor Sportsman Group obtained more than 15 years of programming from the Realtree library, and this trove of content will be added to each year with new content from the above-mentioned series. MOTV and Realtree also will work together to promote MOTV as the exclusive destination for Realtree long-form content. As part of the acquisition, Realtree will create exclusive, new, original content for avid deer fans and fresh “how-to” programming derived from classic hunts and encounters that reside in their vast library.

Since 1993, Realtree Outdoors has followed Jordan as he travels the country in search of all types of game, from waterfowl and turkey, to deer, elk, bear, and more. Currently, Realtree Outdoors is seen on Outdoor Channel in the United States. Started in 2001, Realtree Roadtrips is Michael Waddell’s first hosted series in which he travels the country hunting with friends. Monster Bucks is a compilation of the best hunts from the biggest names in deer hunting.

“We have followed along with Bill and his team throughout their many years of hunting on Outdoor Channel and are thrilled to acquire the Realtree library for MOTV,” Outdoor Sportsman Group President and CEO, Jim Liberatore said. “We are confident this will be an added favorite for the core hunting audience, both domestically and internationally, as they are now able to experience Bill’s adventures for the first time, or all over again, on MOTV.”

The acquisition of exclusive content from the Realtree Library comes after Outdoor Sportsman Group acquired the exclusive library of shows from Jim Shockey and Shockey Productions, Brian “Pigman” Quaca, Heartland Bowhunter and the late Jose Wejebe’s Spanish Fly. OSG is partnering with its best-in-class producers and talent to populate the outdoor lifestyle industry with content for linear, digital, print and mobile platforms with one click.

“All of us at Realtree enjoy sharing the excitement and satisfaction of the outdoor lifestyle, and we realize the important role that our hunting heritage plays in the conservation of land and wildlife,” Realtree Designer and President, Bill Jordan said. “The opportunity to share this lifestyle with more people through MOTV is very exciting.”

MyOutdoorTV is the new global, paid-subscription, video on-demand service from Outdoor Sportsman Group created just for outdoor lifestyle enthusiasts. The subscriber-based service can be found in Apple iTunes and Google Play App stores for users across the globe. The retail price of MOTV is (US) $9.99 per month or (US) $99.99 annually and includes a seven-day free trial period.

The global, subscription-based, video-on-demand service provides the best outdoor programming, lifestyle content and access to favorite Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network television shows and is the preeminent voice for all outdoor enthusiasts. MOTV – powered by the three networks – accomplishes this with an expansive acquired library of the best hunting, fishing and shooting programming in long and short form, recipes, tips and tricks, how-to instructional videos, as well as educational and exclusive content focusing on improving success in the field and waterways. Magazine Is ‘Guide To Modern Crossbow Hunting’

crossbow.revolution

crossbow-coverDENVER (August 17, 2017) — Crossbow hunting may be the most dynamic segment of the outdoor industry, and Crossbow Revolution is considered “the guide to modern crossbow hunting.”

Created by the publishers at Game & Fish Magazine, the special-interest publication is now available on newsstands, iTunes, Google Play and Windows Store.

This special issue is written by crossbow hunters for crossbow hunters, and includes features for hardcore hunters, such as “Hunt Anywhere,” “After-Market Arrows” and “Alaska Bear Adventure.”

“Our magazine is full of the best writers in the industry,” said Editor John Geiger. “The stories and features inform and entertain. It’s a perfect mix of gear, adventures, tactics and news.”

Crossbow Revolution also offers great content geared for new hunters or anyone considering picking up a modern crossbow for the first time. “Deer Hunting 101” walks a hunter through buying a crossbow, setting it up and harvesting a deer in the coming season. A project called “Choose Your Weapon Wisely” clears up the choices in the crossbow-buying experience. Plus, any hunter would be interested in the buyers’ guide that tests 10 of the latest flagship crossbows. Each rig ran a gauntlet of detailed speed, noise and accuracy tests.

“From cover to cover, we assembled excellent, entertaining stories that will increase any hunter’s knowledge and enjoyment of the sport,” said Geiger.

The magazine is distributed across the USA. Visit www.crossbowrevolution.com.

Outdoor Channel’s ‘Hollywood Weapons’ Cast to Appear at Comic-Con International: San Diego

Panel Discussion: “The Art and Science of Film Pyrotechnics and Firearms”

Features Outdoor Channel Host Terry Schappert and Firearms Expert Larry Zanoff

NEW YORK (July 17, 2017) Outdoor Channel’s Hollywood Weapons host and firearms expert, Terry Schappert and Larry Zanoff, respectively, will appear at Comic-Con International: San Diego on Saturday, July 22 at 5:30 p.m. (PT) in Grand Room 3 & 4 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. The duo will be part of a panel discussion entitled: The Art and Science of Film Pyrotechnics and Firearms. The panel will be moderated by Fast Company’s Susan Karlin.

Schappert, also a former Green Beret, and Zanoff, Independent Studios Services head of armor, also will be signing autographs on Saturday at Autograph Area (AA) Booth 18 at 3-4 p.m. (PT).

“Going to Comi-Con and actually speaking on a panel there is like a dream come true,” Schappert said. “I’m willing to bet I’ll have more fun than the movie and weapon fans! Hollywood Weapons is a show for everyone – film, TV, science, firearms – and pyrotechnics fans will all find something to like.”

“Having Terry Schappert and Larry Zanoff participating in the panel adds a different dimension to our discussion,” Karlin added. “It seems strange to think a show – and talent – from Outdoor Channel would fit in at Comic-Con but Hollywood Weapons clearly does. I think you will see why during the panel.”

The panel: The Art and Science of Film Pyrotechnics and Firearms delves into the science and technology behind the colors and shapes of your favorite action scenes in the movies and television, whether or not those crazy gunfights onscreen and blasts could actually occur in real life and the pyro and firearms involved in the stunt scenes. The experts will share information on how these scenes are created and executed, offer videos and funny behind-the-scenes anecdotes, as well as provide tips on getting into the business.

Besides Schappert, Zanoff and moderator Karlin, panelists include: Thomas Seymour (Criminal Minds), miniatures expert Robert “Hutch” Hutchins (Apollo 13) and Dimitri and Beckie Timohovich (Team America World Police, Burning Man).

Comic-Con has presented thousands of special guests at its conventions throughout the years and brings together comics creators, science fiction and fantasy authors, film and television actors, directors, producers, writers and creators from all aspects of the popular arts together with fans for fun and candid discussions about numerous art forms and programming.
