Nature of Work:

The Administrative Specialist & Financial Analyst is responsible for working across departments to compile accurate and timely financial reporting on tournament entries and prizes, shop sales, journal entries, etc., for use by Finance and Accounting. Additionally the Administrative Specialist & Financial Analyst will manage certain administrative functions including, but not limited to, tracking vehicle leases, prize boat MSOs, fleet registrations and licenses, and related insurance documentation.

Examples of work performed:

  • Keep records of financial transactions.
  • Verify allocations and post details of transactions to subsidiary accounts for tracking.
  • Summarize expense details in separate digital ledgers and transfers data to accounting.
  • Reconcile and balance financial accounts related to tournament entries, prize payouts, shop sales and other accounts.
  • Compile reports to show statistics, such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business.
  • Work with accounting to manage funding of tournament prizes and balancing of prize checks.
  • Directly contacts customers and vendors when needed.
  • Processes and balances daily cash receipts report.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum
    1. Associate degree in accounting or related discipline or 3+ years of relevant experience in related field.
    2. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Preferred
    1. BS/BA degree in accounting or related discipline.
    2. Practical experience beyond basic bookkeeping.
    3. Experience working in the tournament fishing industry.
    4. Experience working in a membership-based organization.
    5. Experience using Marketing Cloud, MailChimp or similar email software.

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations.
  • A high degree of proficiency in office procedures, including typing and all the operation of office machines with current computer skills.
  • Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel proficiency.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain positive attitude and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently & in a group setting and demonstrate good judgment skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing environments.
  • The ability to organize, process and analyze a large amount of data and act on it in a timely manner.
