When Danny was ten years old, his grandfather gave him a Bear Whitetail bow, and though he didn’t yet have the strength to draw it, he worked relentlessly until he did. In Danny’s eyes the accomplishment was a rite of passage and soon he began following his father’s footsteps in pursuit of elk and mule deer. On his first bowhunt, Danny’s dad called a cow elk to within mere feet of his son’s position. It was the most exciting thing he had ever experienced, and while Danny failed to take an elk on that first outing, his father successfully planted a bowhunting seed in him that grew strong roots, and eventually sprouted in ways neither would ever have imagined.
With 35 years of experience in the field, Danny is an accomplished bowhunter and an archery industry veteran. Since joining the company over a decade ago, Danny has served as the Associate Publisher of Petersen’s Bowhunting and Bowhunter Magazines, the Producer of Bowhunter TV and the Bowhunting Field Editor of Petersen’s Hunting Magazine. Together with his wife, Lisa, Danny has raised four young bowhunters of his own in Peyton, Colorado.
