Game & Fish Publisher Michael Cassidy Fulfills ‘Bucket List’ Dream with Maine Moose Hunt

DENVER (October 11, 2021) – After 30 years of trying to draw a tag in Maine to hunt moose, Game & Fish publisher Michael Cassidy recently got the chance…and did not disappoint.

Cassidy, who won his chance to hunt in the Pine State through the moose hunting lottery system, harvested a 600-pound moose in the Alagash region of Maine. The “bucket list” harvest fulfilled a lifelong dream.

In a story recently published online at gameandfishmag.com, Cassidy stated: "It was a Maine Moose Dream hunt! After 30 years of trying for the Maine moose lottery, I finally drew my once-in-a-lifetime Maine moose tag!" The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife received more than 72,000 applications for the 2021 fall moose hunting permits and issued 3,480.

Meat from the harvested moose was donated to the Maine Hunters for the Hungry, and field-tissue samples were taken to assist students from the University of Maine graduate-study research in their studies of the state's moose population.
