Part Two of Bowhunter TV’s Bull Elk Encounter Fall Series Premier Continues This Friday

New Berlin, WI (July 11, 2013) – Don’t miss the continuation of hard-core bull elk hunting in part two of Bowhunter TV’s fall series premier exclusively on Sportsman Channel this Friday, July 12 at 9 pm ET/PT. After 18 years of applying, Producer Danny Farris and his dad finally draw the public land elk tag of their dreams and head into the high desert country of northwest Colorado. This is public land, DIY action at its very best with two experienced elk hunters chasing monster bulls in their home state. And the father and son team’s trophy tags prove to be absolutely worth the wait, delivering pointblank encounters, incredibly broad-beamed bulls, and memories to last a lifetime.

“This hunt proved to be everything we’d hoped for, and more!” said Bowhunter TV Producer Danny Farris. “Dad and I took a couple of great bulls, but what really made it special for me was sharing the excitement of so many incredible encounters. I’ve been following my dad through the elk woods since I was a little boy, and when it comes to calling elk in close, he typically has ice running through his veins. On this hunt, however, I got to see his ice melt!  I’ll never forget it!”

In addition to amazing elk action – and priceless elk-hunting insights – viewers get solid gear advice from Host Mike Carney and Equipment Editor Tony Peterson, who will share tips on peep-sight selection and building a bowhunting “possibles bag.” Pro archer Randy Ulmer will teach you how he preps a bow for the backcountry, and Editor Curt Wells will give away his personal elk-calling system.

Mike Hanback’s Journey to ‘Great White North’ Yields HUGE Results on Sportsman Channel

Big Deer TV with Mike Hanback Battles Elements & Spots a Predator of the North

New Berlin, WI (July 10, 2013) – Harvesting ‘big bucks’ once a year in Canada has become a way of life for Mike Hanback during the last ten years and that is not about to change. Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American sportsman, takes audiences into Canada for unmatched whitetail hunting with Mike Hanback. The latest journey north finds Hanback trying to snap his string of bad luck in Alberta and conversely maintain his success rate in Saskatchewan. The results in one of these Canadian locations will likely make viewer do a double take. Big Deer TV is an original television series that premieres exclusively on Sportsman Channel. Do NOT miss the ups and downs on Wednesday, July 10 at 8:00 ET/PT.

The frigid temperatures and the 20 mile per hour winds are certainly tough to deal with, but the elements will not deter the positive spirits of Mike Hanback as he searches for the buck of his dreams. Alberta proves once again to be tricky for buck sightings, however; there is a silver lining when Hanback has a memorable encounter with a massive grey wolf in the distance with an eagle soaring above.  The Canadian journey moves east from Alberta to Saskatchewan where his energy is renewed by several sightings of does and small bucks in the thick woods. Hanback did not have to wait long before a dominant buck rolls into the area and the adrenaline begins to flow.

“I could not believe the size of this old buck,” said Mike Hanback, host of Big Deer with Mike Hanback. “I saw this huge buck in my cross hairs and made a clean harvest. I have had a lot of luck in this location in the past, but this massive buck was my proudest moment in Canada. When I factor in the freezing temperatures and wind chill, the end result could not be more satisfying.
