DENVER (April 29, 2022) – Outdoor Sportsman Group (OSG) Ad Sales department announces the hiring of Tim Hamill as a new National Endemic Account Executive. The announcement was made today by Outdoor Sportsman Group Vice President of Endemic Advertising Sales Mike Savino.

Hamill will work to promote and grow advertising sales initiatives for OSG linear television networks (Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network), as well as iconic OSG Publishing brands like Guns & Ammo, Game & Fish and In-Fisherman, digital content and online websites.

“Adding Tim as a member of our stable of professional and well-connected ad sales team is a great complement to our staff,” Savino said. “Tim’s past experience and familiarity within the outdoor lifestyle industry is an added bonus and we welcome him aboard.”

Before joining OSG, Hamill spent eight years working for the National Rifle Association as an account manager, North American Hunter and North American Fisherman magazines as an associate publisher and account manager at Primedia Outdoors endemic and non-endemic media sales. He brings a high level of ambition, focus and talent to his new work team.

Hamill graduated from Northern Michigan University (Marquette, MI) with a BS in Communications, Mass Media and Journalism. Currently, he resides in Torrance, CA and began work in April.

DENVER (April 18, 2022) – The fish were so nice, Tommy “The Fishmonger” Gomes had to do it twice with his hit series – The Fishmonger. The new Season Two premieres on April 18 at 8:30 p.m. on Outdoor Channel.

Hosted by Tommy Gomes (aka “Tommy the Fishmonger”), the series originally began by examining the challenges faced by San Diego, Calfornia commercial fishermen and their relationships with local chefs, the community and the world market. The series was so popular, the demand for Season Two – and moving beyond the California coast – was soon created.

A native of San Diego, whose Portuguese family settled in the city in 1892, Gomes hails from a long line of professional tuna fishermen. After retiring from commercial fishing, he landed a job in 2003 as a fish cutter. He evolved into the role of fishmonger, becoming the seafood supplier’s public face and helping grow the brand beyond its wholesale origins.

In Season Two, Gomes heads to Boston's Seafood Expo North America to see the latest in the commerical fishing world. Following the coast south to Cape May, N.J., he connects with the folks at Lund's Fisheries to explore a large-scale operation. Next, he heads to Sitka, Alaska – a typical Alaskan fishing town. Tommy learns what it takes to supply the world with the best wild caught salmon. Also, don’t miss Gomes teaching everything about how to clean, cut and cook fish. In 2011, Gomes’ charisma and seafood expertise landed him on San Diego Magazine’s list of
“50 People to Watch.” By 2012, he had opened Catalina Offshore Product’s Seafood Education and Nutrition Center – a fish market that attracts customers from around the world, including top chefs and media. He also had founded “Collaboration Kitchen,” a nonprofit dinner series focused on seafood education.

An outspoken champion of local and sustainable seafood, he promotes responsible fishing practices and zero-waste consumption. His pioneering approach to opah, specifically, led to an emerging market for several edible parts of the fish that historically have been overlooked. His work was a significant component in Catalina Offshore receiving a substantial grant in 2019 in collaboration with NOAA Fisheries which aimed at increasing the value of San Diego’s local fisheries.

In his spare time, Gomes can be found on the local restaurant scene, watching hockey, or taking his boat, motorcycle or ’55 Ford pickup for a ride.

DENVER (April 15, 2022) – When Zanesville, Ohio resident Nick Ventura visited his dying grandmother for the last time she had one simple request – “take your grandfather elk hunting at least one more time.” The story of that hunt – The Old Bull – will serve as the centerpiece for a fundraising event taking place on Friday, April 22 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, OH.

The event will feature the film, along with a buffet dinner, drinks, silent auction, raffle and door prizes.

The one-hour film follows Ventura, his father and his grandfather, Joe Mohan (74), as the group hunts elk in Colorado and attempts to bring back memories and a passion for elk hunting that Joe once lived as a young man. With his grandmother always on his mind, Nick fulfills his promise as the story unfolds.
