“In-Fisherman TV” Set to Hit Milestone with 500th Episode

OSG Logo New

BAXTER, Minn. (March, 25,2022) – Outdoor Sportsman Group is proud to announce the 500th episode of In-Fisherman TV will air on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 on Sportsman Channel, a milestone accomplishment for one of the pioneering freshwater fishing television shows of the last 40 years.

The first In-Fisherman Television Specials, as they were called at the time, aired in early 1979 as four one-hour episodes on select broadcast stations around North America. In the years since, the expert hosts and field editors have continued to educate viewers on the best times, tactics and locations to target a wide range of freshwater species with an emphasis on walleyes, pike, largemouth bass, smallmouths, muskies, panfish and catfish.

“I want to recognize and offer my appreciation to everyone who’s played a role along the way in helping In-Fisherman TV reach this remarkable milestone,” said In-Fisherman associate publisher Todd Ceisner. “We don’t take lightly the fact that In-Fisherman TV has played a significant role in teaching multiple generations of anglers the ins and outs of all things freshwater fishing and we strive every day to uncover new and exciting ways to pursue and catch fish.”

On the road to this momentous achievement, the In-Fisherman staff has taken great pride in having been part of many historic moments in the evolution of fishing television production as it has traveled to all corners of North America.

In-Fisherman TV is responsible for setting the tone in many ways for how freshwater fishing strategies were covered. Ice fishing on television was a foreign concept before In- Fisherman brought it to the masses in the early 1980s. The show also introduced viewers to fishing for white sturgeon, North America’s largest sportfish, in the early 1990s, and helped elevate the sportfishing profiles of less-sought-after species like alligator gar and carp.

“The popularity and longevity of the show rests with the authenticity of the multispecies format, with us taking viewers to three different parts of North America to fish for at least three different fish species in each show," said Doug Stange, the show’s longtime host and In- Fisherman editor in chief. “Television also isn’t about mediocrity. It’s about having exceptional anglers catching impressive fish as they offer information and insights anglers can’t get anywhere else.”

In-Fisherman TV can be seen on Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel, Sportsman Channel Canada and the World Fishing Network. The show is also available through the My Outdoors TV (MOTV) streaming service. Visit https://www.in-fisherman.com/ for more information.

In the meantime, the quest to offer North America visionary, educational, and entertaining television fishing footage continues, as we get started on our next 500 shows.

Learn from the Best on ‘Bill Dance Saltwater’ on Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. ET on Sportsman Channel

OSG Logo New

DENVER (March 24, 2022) Bill Dance is bringing his educational format to saltwater fishers with Bill Dance Saltwater on Sportsman Channel on Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. ET. In each episode, viewers will find Bill partnered with a noted saltwater expert specializing in the week's target catch. Gain an understanding of techniques, seasons, baits and locations for saltwater adventures. Learn all about the species, why it's there, when it's there and how to get it into the boat.

Bill Dance is an outdoors legend. For more than 36 years, he has delivered fishing advice on television in his humorous, off-beat way. Dance has been an avid fisherman since his youth in Lynchburg, Tennessee. He always dreamed of working in the fishing industry and in his 20s began to fish competitively. His fishing ability was so great that he won more than a third of his first 15 events, and finished in the top 5 in the others. He used this success as a springboard to a career in television. Success didn’t come easy, after a tour of TV stations in the South, Dance came back discouraged. But he didn’t give up. Finally, a local ABC-TV affiliate told him that if he found a sponsor, they would give the show a shot. He did and the rest is fairly well-known.

Outdoor Sportsman Group Announces Schedule for 2022 Delta/McKenzie Archery Shooters Association (ASA) Pro/AM Tour

OSG Logo New

DENVER (March 21, 2022) – Following the success of last year’s Delta/McKenzie Archery Shooters Association (ASA) Pro/AM Tour, along with Outdoor Sportsman Group and its linear networks, digital and social channels, the ASA has launched its six-event 2022 season. This week’s event originates from Russell County, Alabama on March 26 with the Elite Archery Pro/AM.

Outdoor Sportsman Group (OSG) – the world’s largest aggregator, creator and distributor of outdoor lifestyle content – has re-signed as the official multimedia distributor of the Delta/McKenzie Archery Shooters Association (ASA) Pro/AM Tour. Events will be presented to the public via broadcast linear programming, digital and social channels (Sportsman Channel, MOTV and Sportsman Channel Facebook page). OSG will continue to distribute monthly tournaments throughout the summer, with the final tournament on July 30 on Sportsman Channel.

The ASA, established in 1994, was formed to call attention to the sport of archery by providing a series of tournaments for highly-skilled participants. The concept has evolved to the point where Sportsman Channel agreed to televise tournaments in a six-month schedule in 2021 and has renewed that pact for the 2022 tournament season. Each Delta/McKenzie ASA Pro/AM tournament can draw up to 2,000 amateur and professional archers from all over the world.

The ASA “Pro Pressure Point Shootdowns” are the highlight of each national Delta/McKenzie ASA Pro/AM tournament. After two days of competition in the field, the top five archers in each of the four professional divisions square off on a special, five-target field set up with stadium seating and Competition Archery Media’s broadcast cameras.

Each archer shoots an arrow at one of the five targets to add to their two-day cumulative score from the weekend. If needed, a sixth arrow also is shot to determine the final podium positions. This phase of the competition features the added pressure of archers performing in front of hundreds of spectators on the field with broadcast cameras following their every move.

The following is a list of each tournament with air date. Viewers will see the shootdowns broadcast live on Sportsman Channel at 5 p.m. ET on each of the following dates:

February 26 – Foley, AL – Hoyt/Easton Pro/AM

March 26 – Russell County, AL – Elite Archery Pro/AM

April 23 – Camp Minden, LA – Easton/Hoyt Pro/AM

June 4 – London, KY – TRU Ball & Black Eagle Pro/AM

June 25 – Metropolis, IL – Mathews Archery Pro/AM

July 30 – Cullman, AL – Delta/McKenzie ASA Classic

Sponsors of the Delta/McKenzie ASA Pro/AM 3D Live Tournament include: Elite Archery, Hoyt, Easton, TRU Ball/Axcel, Black Eagle and Mathews. For more information on Sportsman Channel and the Archery Shooters Association, visit: www.asaarchery.com.

About Archery Shooters Association: In addition to the national Tour, the ASA supports more than 330 clubs that provide an excellent opportunity for everyone to shoot. With a focus on the growth of the sport of 3-D archery by supporting local clubs and making a commitment to youth education and training, the ASA has established itself as a leading force in the movement to bring the sport to mainstream America. The ASA organization includes experienced archers and coaches that work year-round conducting well- organized and challenging local, state, and national tournaments that are enjoyed by professional and amateur shooters alike.

‘Whitetail Properties’ on Sportsman Channel on Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET

OSG Logo New

DENVER (March 16, 2022) Whitetail Properties continues its long-standing series run on Sportsman Channel, airing Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET. Founded in 2007, Whitetail Properties has exploded into North America’s top place to buy and sell recreational hunting, ranch, farm and timberland. This fact was cemented in 2020 with more than $1.8 billion in sales and being named one of “America’s Best Brokerages” by The Land Report for the ninth year in a row.

Whitetail Properties enlists a staff of hard-working, knowledgeable and passionate Land Specialists across the country who showcase big buck action in more than 20 states. With more than 300 Land Specialists coast-to-coast, the team averages more than 10 properties sold every day of the year companywide.

The TV series is hosted by Dan Perez. A Florida native, Perez cut his teeth chasing deer and hogs in the swamps and farmlands of the “Sunshine State.” It was his deep passion for land and a desire to chase the biggest deer in the country that brought him to legendary Pike County, Illinois. Since his move to the Midwest, Perez’s quest for mature bucks has earned him more than 50 whitetails that exceed Pope and Young’s minimum qualifications. Exclusively hunting these old monarchs has provided him a much greater opportunity to study and refine his proficiency as a big buck predator. All the information he conveys on the Whitetail Properties show and his written work is learned firsthand. Perez continues as a CEO, television host and broker at Whitetail Properties Real Estate, specializing in hunting, farm, ranch and timber property across the country.
