Outdoor Sportsman Group Announces Schedule for 2023 Delta/McKenzie Archery Shooters Association (ASA) Pro/AM Tour

OSG Logo New

Next Series Event is February 25 with Hoyt/Easton Pro/AM

DENVER (February 23, 2023) – Once again the Delta/McKenzie Archery Shooters Association (ASA) Pro/AM Tour is launching its six-event 2023 season in partnership with Outdoor Sportsman Group and its linear networks, digital and social channels. The first event kicks off this Saturday, February 25 with the Hoyt/Easton Pro/Am at 5 p.m. on Sportsman Channel.

Outdoor Sportsman Group (OSG) – the world’s largest aggregator, creator and distributor of outdoor lifestyle content – has re-signed as the official multimedia distributor of the Delta/McKenzie Archery Shooters Association (ASA) Pro/AM Tour. Events will be presented to the public via broadcast linear programming, digital and social channels (Sportsman Channel, MOTV and Sportsman Channel Facebook page). OSG will continue to showcase monthly tournaments throughout the spring and summer, with the final tournament on August 5 on Sportsman Channel.

The ASA, established in 1994, was formed to call attention to the sport of archery by providing a series of tournaments for highly-skilled participants. The concept has evolved to the point where Sportsman Channel agreed to televise tournaments in a six-month schedule in 2021, renewed that pact for the 2022 tournament season, and now the 2023 season. Each Delta/McKenzie ASA Pro/AM tournament can draw up to 2,000 amateur and professional archers from all over the world.

The ASA “Pro Pressure Point Shootdowns” are the highlight of each national Delta/McKenzie ASA Pro/AM tournament. After two days of competition in the field, the top five archers in each of the four professional divisions square off on a special, five-target field set up with stadium seating and Competition Archery Media’s broadcast cameras.

Each archer shoots an arrow at one of five targets to add to their two-day cumulative score from the weekend. If needed, a sixth arrow also is shot to determine the final podium positions. This phase of the competition features the added pressure of archers performing in front of hundreds of spectators on the field with broadcast cameras following their every move.

The following is a list of each remaining tournament with air date. Viewers will see the shootdowns broadcast live on Sportsman Channel at 5 p.m. ET on each of the following dates:

Feb 23 – Feb 26: Hoyt Easton Pro/Am (Foley, AL)
Mar 30 – Apr 2: Elite Archery Pro/Am (Russell County, AL)
Apr 27 – Apr 30: Easton Hoyt Pro/Am (Camp Minden, LA)
June 1 – June 4: TRU Ball – Black Eagle Pro/Am (London, KY)
Jun 29 – Jul 2: Mathews Archery Pro/Am (Metropolis, IL)
Aug 3 – Aug 6 : Delta McKenzie Classic (Cullman, AL)

Sponsors of the Delta/McKenzie ASA Pro/AM 3D Live Tournament include: Elite Archery, Hoyt, Easton, TRU Ball/Axcel, Black Eagle and Mathews. For more information on Sportsman Channel and the Archery Shooters Association, visit: www.asaarchery.com.

DENVER (February 20, 2023) – MeatEater with Steven Rinella has been a perennial favorite with Outdoor Sportsman Group viewers since its debut nine years ago. Part Two of MeatEater Season 10 returns to Outdoor Channel tonight

.

Growing up in the Midwest’s great outdoors – hunting, fishing and trapping from a young age – Rinella always viewed the world through the eyes of an ancestral hunter/gatherer. Rinella has made his life’s work of being mindful of conservation principles and practices, as well.

Learn How to Trap from The Best on ‘North American Trapper’ on Sportsman Channel

OSG Logo New

DENVER (February 17, 2023) – One of the most knowledgable trappers today, Alan Probst, takes viewers into the history and skill of trapping fur animals in North American Trapper, airing Sundays at 1:30 p.m. ET on Sportsman Channel.

This series helps viewers achieve their own outdoor successes through education and instruction on viable trapping methods. These methods will help with predation control on hunting properties and more. Probst shows methods that are ecologically and environmentally sound, plus gets into the deep ancestry of trapping.

Alan Probst grew up in the outdoors with a family tradition that traces back to his great-grandfather, who was a hunter, trapper and lure maker. Think about it: rifle hunters can shoot an animal at ranges of 600 yards and even further. Bowhunters generally shoot animals at 20 to 40 yards. In short, hunters have a lot of flexibility when it comes to getting an opportunity to shoot an animal. Trapping, however, is much more precise and leaves far less room for error. In order to successfully trap an animal, they usually have to step inside a one or two-inch square area. It's this challenge that gave Probst the "fever" at just seven-years-old after trapping his first muskrat and the same "fever" that has driven his passion for trapping ever since. This kind of precision that trapping requires can make people think that it's too complicated or difficult so they write it off without trying.

Watch North American Trapper on Sportsman Channel on Sundays at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Odd or Invasive – But Not Inedible – on Season 6 of ‘Dead Meat with Scott Leysath’ Airing on Outdoor Channel

OSG Logo New

Popular Series Shows Even Ugly Critters Can Taste Good During
“Taste of the Wild” Block Monday Nights

DENVER (February 13, 2023) – Food from wild animals can be sometimes strange, sometimes scary, but not inedible if properly prepped and cooked. This is what viewers will learn on the Season 6 premiere of Dead Meat with host Scott Leysath, airing Monday nights at 9:30 p.m. on Outdoor Channel.

For many hunters and gatherers, the adage – “If it is worth killing, it is worth eating” is a life-long value, and a saying that some might shudder at when considering dining on some of the “less-desirable” parts. Not long-time chef, hunter and TV host Scott Leysath. Now entering its sixth season, Dead Meat promises even more edgy, outrageous and maybe scary moments.

This season, Leysath teams up with veterans to bowfish for invasive snakeheads in Maryland, and hunts sandhill cranes in Saskatchewan. Also, Leysath tries skunk for the first time. “The skunk was brined for two days, boiled and then fried, so it wasn’t bad. Some people went back for seconds. Although, some parts of the meat did smell like skunk and we have a rule, if it smells like skunk, don’t eat it.”

Listen to Leysath share what is on the table this season on Dead Meat on “The Revolution with Jim and Trav.”

Watch Dead Meat on Outdoor Channel Mondays at 9:30 p.m. ET.
