World Fishing Network’s “World Fishing Journal” Features Sisters on the Fly and Heated Debates in Nova Scotia on Sunday, January 3 at 11:30 a.m. ET

DENVER (December 28, 2015) – From a bandwagon of women in trailers traveling the nation to a heated debate about a river’s ecosystem in Nova Scotia, two captivating stories unfold in this week’s episode of World Fishing Network’s World Fishing Journal on Sunday, January 3 at 11:30 a.m. ET.

When an unusually large group of vintage trailers make their way through town, it becomes clear “Sisters on the Fly” have arrived. Women from all walks of life are flocking to this organization that encourages them to leave their comfort zone and explore activities in the great outdoors. There are only three simple rules to join the largest women’s outdoor adventure group: no men, no kids and be nice!

This growing, 6,500-member organization travels in trailers gaining followers and supporting good causes. Just a quick glance at someone’s personalized trailer and viewers will have the individual figured out. From avid fishers, to lady-bug lovers, to cat fanatics – you name it, they’ve got it.

Camaraderie, sharing a common interest for being outdoors and “having more fun than anyone” is what it’s all about in this sisterhood of sassy trailers.

“We get women outdoors and into activities that they normally wouldn’t try,” said Nicole Cassity, sister number 5578. “We give them a safe environment to try these incredible events and know that they have immediate friends that are going to rally around them and cheer them on.”

Viewers also will be whisked away to the riverbanks of Shubenacadie River in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia, where controversy ensues over a corporation’s plan with the water source. In order to give natives cheaper rates on natural gas, the corporation wants to use the river in a way that could possibly endanger the striped bass in their spawning grounds.

For the time being, continuous protests have halted the plan. Tune in to find out the details of how and why.

Outdoor Channel Acquires Cable Syndication Rights to Air A&E Network’s Hit Show “Duck Dynasty”

Duck-Dynasty-Photo-3NEW YORK (December 17, 2015) – While Duck Dynasty® continues to thrive with original episodes on A&E Network, the Robertsons have found a new syndicated home –
Outdoor Channel. Outdoor Channel has acquired the cable syndication rights to air the first six seasons of Duck Dynasty, the most-watched unscripted series in cable history, beginning on January 18, 2016 at 7 p.m. ET. The announcement was made today by Jim Liberatore, CEO and President of Outdoor Sportsman Group Networks.

Outdoor Channel’s acquisition includes 71 episodes from the show’s first six seasons. The Robertson family return home to Outdoor Channel – where they got their television start with Duck Commander and where brother Willie Robertson currently stars on Buck Commander Protected by Under Armour – and will begin Duck Dynasty’s cable syndicated run with season one in January.

The Robertsons – brothers Phil and Si, along with Phil’s sons Willie, Jase and Jep – own and operate the Louisiana-based duck calling business “Duck Commander.” With Willie serving as CEO, the family has turned their signature beards and idiosyncratic personalities into a multimillion dollar business brand and iconic television series. Established in 1973, the company has grown from a “mom-and-pop” operation that creates fabricated duck calls and decoys out of salvaged swamp wood to a multimillion dollar sporting empire.

“We are excited about acquiring the first-run cable syndicated rights for the first six seasons of Duck Dynasty for Outdoor Channel and can’t wait to bring those episodes to our viewers,” said Liberatore. “As with any hugely popular television show that has been syndicated, we know fans of Duck Dynasty will flock to Outdoor Channel to relive the fun that started America’s love of the Robertson family.”

“Duck Dynasty” is produced for A&E Network by Gurney Productions. Executive producers for Gurney Productions are Deirdre Gurney and Scott Gurney. Executive producers for A&E are

Brad Holcman and Laurie Sharpe.

Outdoor Channel’s Original Series “Carter’s W.A.R.” Takes Viewers to the Front Line in Africa’s Fight for Survival, Conservation and Wildlife Animal Response on Monday, December 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT

Ivan-Carter-Photo-1DENVER (December 14, 2015) – Having grown up in the bush of Africa, native son of Zimbabwe, Ivan Carter, is taking it upon himself to call attention to and help correct the wrongs he has seen – and continues to see in his homeland – with the Outdoor Channel original series Carter’s W.A.R. (Wildlife Animal Response) presented by Nosler. Carter’s W.A.R. airs exclusively on Outdoor Channel and will premiere on Monday, December 28 at 9 p.m. ET.

Carter, host, is a conservationist, professional hunting guide, photographer and leading voice of the conservationist movement in the “Birthplace of Humanity.” His goal is to spread his message around the world. A tireless advocate and educator, Carter is committed to telling viewers the untold story of his quest to save his homeland in Carter’s W.A.R.

Africa is dying. From heavily armed hordes of poachers who butcher endangered elephants and rhinoceros, to the exploding birthrate of Africa’s population; the continent is in a constant conflict to symbiotically provide for its people and habitat. And the two are at odds. The confines of the land are bursting at the seams and Ivan Carter is on the front line trying to save Africa and advance the ideology of conservation as a life-saving process and solution.

Carter’s W.A.R. is an example of how one man with a message can help change the world in which we live,” said Jim Liberatore, CEO and President of Outdoor Sportsman Group Networks. “Ivan Carter is one man trying to educate the world about the importance of conservation and how we all can help accomplish that goal globally.”

Ivan-Carter-Photo-6Carter will take viewers on a journey through the bushes of Africa where he confronts the wildlife transgressors trying to destroy its awe-inspiring habitat for tusks and horns. Carter’s W.A.R. also will help viewers understand the constant struggle the people of Africa endure just to fetch water from the nearby river and the importance and duty of conservation practices. It is a life and death struggle everyday and Ivan Carter will tell those stories and more.

“This show is more about how we – as members of the world community – can help educate people unfamiliar with the daily life hardships of the African people,” espoused Carter. “Africa is the birthplace of civilization and we are working hard so it does not become the deathbed.”
