With Host Mario Kalpou of Fan Favorite Series “Man Eats Wild”

DENVER (September 18, 2025) Celebrate the people, places, and traditions that make America’s culinary landscape so unique in the new series, United Plates, with host Mario Kalpou, debuting on Outdoor Channel September 29 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

In United Plates, Kalpou hits the road in a custom-built RV, courtesy of Jayco RV, to hunt, cook, and taste his way through the country’s most iconic dishes. From Texas BBQ pits to Louisiana crawfish boils, Kalpou immerses himself in the rich culinary heritage of America, connecting with locals and uncovering the stories behind each meal.

Born in Australia, Kalpou’s love for nature and food began at an early age, splitting his time between his father’s farm and his mother’s family of culinary professionals. After a successful career as a restaurateur, earning accolades like Zagat 3 Hats and Belle Awards, Kalpou traded the bustling restaurant scene for the great outdoors. He opened an extreme-adventure lodge in New Zealand, where he honed his skills as a professional guide and deepened his connection to wild food. His unique blend of culinary expertise and outdoor adventure inspired his previous hit series, Man Eats Wild, and now, United Plates.

Each episode of United Plates offers a new adventure, blending outdoor pursuits with culinary experiences:

  • Louisiana Frog Fry: Dive into the bayou swamps for a frog-catching adventure paired with fiery fiddle tunes and folklore.
  • Oklahoma Giant Catfish: Experience the gritty art of noodling and feast on fresh-caught catfish with local flair.
  • New Mexico Chili Elk: Harvest wild elk and Hatch green chiles for the ultimate chili dish, despite unpredictable weather.

Exploring Alaska Native Cultural Legacy on ‘Our Way of Life’ Debuting September 29 on Outdoor Channel

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is OSG-Email-Signature_ALL-LOGOS_2024.png

MeatEater Creator, Heather Douville, Uplifts Tlingit Traditions

DENVER (September 17, 2025) From the studios of MeatEater, Outdoor Channel is proud to announce the premiere of Our Way of Life, a groundbreaking new series debuting on September 29 at 8 p.m. ET. Hosted by Tlingit Nation member Heather Douville, the series offers an intimate look into the cultural, hunting, and culinary practices of the Tlingit people, celebrating their deep connection to the land, sea, and community.

Heather Douville, known by her traditional name Kootink, belongs to the Shank’weidi clan (Eagle/Wolf) and is a content creator at MeatEater. Through Our Way of Life, Douville shares her tribe’s traditions, values, and knowledge, passed down for over 10,000 years through storytelling and practice. The series is a heartfelt journey of reconnection, resilience, and stewardship, offering viewers a rare glimpse into the Tlingit way of life.

Our Way of Life is a celebration and representation of who we are as stewards of the land,” said Douville. “It’s about respecting what we take, giving back, and sharing with our community. I hope this series inspires people to connect with their food, their culture, and their roots, no matter where they are in their journey.”

The series follows Douville and her father, Michael, as they document seasonal practices, from harvesting herring eggs in the spring to crafting traditional náxw (halibut hooks) and sewing sea otter fur garments. Each episode highlights the Tlingit Nation’s deep respect for the land and its resources, emphasizing the importance of using what is taken and sharing with others.

Douville’s journey to reconnect with her culture began as a young adult when she returned to her ancestral home in Southeast Alaska. Taught by her father and elders, she embraced the practices of hunting, harvesting, and stewardship with reverence and respect. Her vulnerability in sharing this journey on her Instagram page (@akmoosie) has resonated with audiences worldwide, inspiring others to explore their own heritage and connection to the natural world.

“My dad taught me how to hunt from a skiff later in life, and it was transformative. He wanted me to finish my education in the lower 48, while I wanted my education to come from him,” she shared. “It’s never too late to learn, unlearn, and grow. My hope is that this series empowers youth, women, and people of all ages to embrace their culture and share.”

The series also addresses the challenges of preserving Indigenous traditions in today’s world, from navigating modern regulations to combating the erosion of cultural knowledge at the hands of colonization. Douville’s work is a testament to the resilience of the Tlingit people and their unwavering commitment to passing down their heritage to future generations.

“Kids are sacred in our culture,” Douville explained. “I want my nieces, nephews, and all youth to know they are valued and have a purpose. By practicing our culture—using all parts of the fish, respecting the land, and sharing with others—we teach them the values that define who we are.”

Our Way of Life is a production from MeatEater, where Heather works as a content creator, offering a unique opportunity to amplify Indigenous voices and share the Tlingit Nation’s story with a broader audience.

Kent and Shannon Rollins Bring Chuck Wagon Cooking and Cowboy Culture to Life

DENVER (September 10, 2025) – Saddle up and get ready to experience the heart and soul of cowboy culture with Cast Iron Cowboy, a new series debuting on Outdoor Channel on September 29 at 9:30 pm ET, kicking off the network’s “Premiere Week,” with dozens of new series and episodes. Hosted by cowboy cook Kent Rollins and his wife Shannon with their 1876 Studebaker chuck wagon in tow, the series takes viewers on a journey to some of the most authentic cowboy ranches across America.

For over 30 years, Kent Rollins has dedicated his life to preserving the heritage of the American cowboy. “This is a really unique series that has been about seven years in the making,” stated Rollins. “It’s been a dream for us to be able to showcase the hard-working ranchers across America and to share their stories, their heritage, and a lifestyle that is still thriving… you just don’t see it from the interstate.”

Together, Kent and his wife Shannon travel the country to feed hungry cowboys hearty, no-frills meals that reflect the unique regional flavors of each ranch they visit. The gold standard of chuck wagon cooks, their philosophy is simple: “You can’t get full on fancy” – though Kent’s audience of nearly 7 million followers across social media don’t seem to mind. From sizzling steaks to Dutch oven ribs, every dish is a tribute to the hardworking men and women who keep the cowboy tradition alive.
