The Great American Spring program will run through June 30.

Outdoor Sportsman Group’s Great American Spring presented by Toro was designed for outdoor lifestyle enthusiasts that live to be outside, uncluttered and unencumbered by four walls. The program is geared towards hardworking, passionate outdoor enthusiasts becoming hyper-focused on the many joys of the great outdoors. That means time-honored rituals like the opening of fishing season, digging into land management projects, camping, hiking, boating and planning their next epic adventure.

That’s not all this energetic group wants. They’re also highly motivated to get things done around the house, in the yard, on the deck, in the garage and in every corner of their property. These outdoorsmen and women also enjoy more leisurely pursuits like grilling game meat from the freezer, as well as entertaining friends and family.

When it comes to “work before play” Toro is helping outdoorsmen and women find the appropriate balance between backyard and patio obligations and fun on the water or in the fields. Custom videos touting Toro lawncare, as well as yard care products: Z Master® 2000, TITAN® MAX, and TimeCutter® zero turn mowers, Revolution Electric Backpack Leaf Blower and 60V MAX Flex-Force Battery Brushless Chainsaw demonstrate how yardwork and chores don’t have to monopolize a Saturday and Sunday afternoon in order to save time so anglers and hunters can get back to the places they love to fish and hunt.

“Getting outside is such a joy, whether you’re mowing the lawn or casting a line,” says Aaron Weiss, Associate Brand Marketing Manager at Toro. “Toro is excited to equip outdoorsmen and women with proven and innovative lawn tools to maintain their own little slice of the great outdoors this season.”

Outdoor Channel’s ‘The Fishmonger’ Moves East for Season Three Debuting Memorial Day

OSG Logo New

“The Fishmonger” Features San Diego Native Tommy Gomes and is Produced by
“The Sporting Chef” and “Dead Meat” Production Team

DENVER (May 25, 2023) – Tommy “The Fishmonger” moves to ports east, which are all experiencing soci-economic and political challenges on his hit series – The Fishmonger. Season Three debuts Memorial Day, May 29 at 9:30 p.m. on Outdoor Channel.

Hosted by Tommy Gomes (aka “Tommy the Fishmonger”), the series originally began by examining the challenges faced by San Diego, Calfornia commercial fishermen and their relationships with local chefs, the community and the world market. The series was so popular, the demand for Season Two – and moving beyond the California coast – was soon created.

A native of San Diego, whose Portuguese family settled in the city in 1892, Gomes hails from a long line of professional tuna fishermen. After retiring from commercial fishing, he landed a job in 2003 as a fish cutter. He evolved into the role of fishmonger, becoming the seafood supplier’s public face and helping grow the brand beyond its wholesale origins.

In the first episode, Gomes reconnects with John Fee of Lund's Fisheries in New Bedford and they're talking scallops, a seafood auction, and the history of the No. 1 commercial fishing port in America. The New Bedford restaurant scene is something to see, and Tommy gets a private tour of a historic Nantucket Lightship.

In later episodes, Gomes explores the challenge lobster fisherman face, hears how a 40-year oyster company stays sustainable and relevant, and much more.

In 2011, Gomes’ charisma and seafood expertise landed him on San Diego Magazine’s list of “50 People to Watch.” By 2012, he had opened Catalina Offshore Product’s Seafood Education and Nutrition Center – a fish market that attracts customers from around the world, including top chefs and media. He also had founded “Collaboration Kitchen,” a nonprofit dinner series focused on seafood education.

An outspoken champion of local and sustainable seafood, he promotes responsible fishing practices and zero-waste consumption. His pioneering approach to opah, specifically, led to an emerging market for several edible parts of the fish that historically have been overlooked. His work was a significant component in Catalina Offshore receiving a substantial grant in 2019 in collaboration with NOAA Fisheries which aimed at increasing the value of San Diego’s local fisheries.

In his spare time, Gomes can be found on the local restaurant scene, watching hockey, or taking his boat, motorcycle or ’55 Ford pickup for a ride.

Watch The Fishmonger on Mondays at 9:30 p.m. ET on Outdoor Channel. Find Outdoor Channel in your area by visiting https://www.outdoorchannel.com/channelfinder.aspx
