Safari Video Series ‘Ruger Presents Horns of Africa,’ in Partnership with Burris Optics, Available Now from Petersen’s HUNTING

Digital Video Series Records Epic Hunting Adventures for Plains Game in Southern Africa

DENVER (September 3, 2026) – Join in the adventure of a lifetime, hunting the iconic plains game of Southern Africa with “Ruger Presents Horns of Africa,” in partnership with Burris Optics, and in cooperation with Outdoor Sportsman Group’s legacy big-game hunting brand, Petersen’s HUNTING. Available now to watch exclusively on the Petersen’s HUNTING Website, Petersen’s HUNTING YouTube and on MyOutdoorTV (MOTV), this 8-part series hosted by Kali Parmley (Host of Wild Upland, Editor in Chief of Gun Dog and Backcountry Hunter magazines) gives viewers a first-hand look at safari life in Southern Africa and what it takes to hunt plains game, especially various antelope, but also other game species and gamebirds. Kali Parmley and her hunting partners share their experiences in the field, demonstrating, along with their Professional Hunter (PH), the modern hunting tackle and techniques that work in the breathtakingly beautiful but harsh and often unforgiving conditions of the rolling African bushveld.

With partners Ruger and Burris Optics, Host Kali Parmley and team not only enjoy the heart of the African wilderness in pursuit of some of the continent’s most sought-after game species, but they also celebrate the vital role that hunting plays in conservation in Africa. Parmley and team give back to the community by visiting a local school, do some big-picture sightseeing at the unforgettable Mapungubwe National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for the ancient African Kingdom that arose there at the confluence of the Limpopo and Shashe Rivers, and they spend invaluable time getting to know and understand what it means to be a PH in Africa, and also what it means to be perhaps their greatest asset – a spoorsnyer, which means “tracker” in Afrikaans.

Follow Ruger Director of Media, Advertising, and Public Relations, Abbey Clary, as she makes her first trip to Africa, discovering the incredible people and places that make the Limpopo Province so unique and unforgettable, and setting her sights on the brindled blue wildebeest, the mesmerizingly graceful impala, and the striking but secretive nyala antelope.

Tim Cremin, Head of Programming at Outdoor Sportsman Group (OSG), expressed his enthusiasm for this second edition of Ruger Presents Horns of Africa: “We’re really excited about returning to Southern Africa with a fresh eye to document the sights and sounds of the Limpopo region and the natural spectacle that is safari, while at the same time working with our partners Ruger and Burris to show how hunting conserves wildlife and wild lands – and the communities that depend on both.”

“Ruger Presents Horns of Africa” is available now for streaming on the Petersen’s HUNTING Website, Petersen’s HUNTING YouTube and on MyOutdoorTV (MOTV).

‘Monday Night Hunts’ Promises Wild, Western Adventures on Sportsman Channel

DENVER (September 2, 2026) – It’s finally here! Hunting seasons are opening across the West, and if you’ve got speed goats, velvet muleys and screaming bull elk on your mind, then you’ll love Sportsman Channel’s “Monday Night Hunts,” every Monday night from 8:00-11:30 p.m. ET. Bringing viewers the very best big-game hunting adventures from the western prairies to the high plains and from the badlands and rolling foothills to the Rocky Mountain high country and beyond, the “Monday Night Hunts” lineup emphasizes true wilderness hunting experiences of all kinds. First, join Hunter McWaters, born and raised an Eastern Shore waterfowler, who is now living his big-game hunting dreams across the American West. Then learn all the public-land tricks from the experts at Western Hunter. Experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the backcountry on Art of Wild. Get nothing but hard-hunting and breath-taking experiences with Jason Matzinger on Into High Country. Gain an insider’s perspective on an amazing hunting life on Jim Shockey’s Shock Therapy. Follow Greg McHale on exhilarating and inspiring hunting adventures in the Far North and far away. Lastly, on back-to-back episodes of MeatEater, Host Steven Rinella presents pinnacle field-to-table experiences. Be sure to tune in to Sportsman Channel’s “Monday Night Hunts,” every week from 8:00-11:30 p.m. ET.

The “Monday Night Hunts” lineup includes the following:

The Hunter’s Quest (8:00 p.m. ET): Hunter McWaters grew up hunting whitetails and waterfowl on the East Coast, but once he found western hunting his life changed forever. Follow Hunter as he learns to become a better hunter – and a better human – through public-land adventures in the American West and beyond. In the first episode of the month, “Wyoming Duck ‘n Buck 1,” Hunter is joined by Taylor Deemer of Ducks Unlimited, and they head to Eastern Wyoming for waterfowl and antelope.

The Western Hunter (8:30 p.m. ET): Hosted by Nate Simmons and Chris Denham, this fan-favorite program documents the journeys of public-land hunters out West. The stories unfold in some of the wildest and most beautiful settings on the continent in pursuit of big game. In this week’s show, “Barely Legal Part 1,” Nate Simmons bow hunts for high country mule deer on public land in Wyoming.

Art of Wild (9:00 p.m. ET): A film series that aims to tell stories about the wild in the most cinematic way possible, Art of Wild takes viewers to incredible, wild places that most people will never see but where the human spirit is truly fed. Only a hunter knows what it’s like to wake up with the woods, to hear a bull bugle in the gray light, or to experience the myriad moments that make up the beauty of the wild. This series isn’t about any one person but about what hunters enjoy the most – the wild. This week on “The Eye,” longtime Art of Wild friend Josh Bartlam hunts whitetail deer in Kansas with his dad.

Into High Country (9:30 p.m. ET): Host Jason Matzinger seeks to capture the best of western hunting in his home state of Montana and throughout the West. Into High Country documents a wide array of authentic hunting adventures in the most epic western landscapes. Featuring various bow and rifle hunts for big game such as elk, mule deer, black bear, moose, pronghorn and more, Matzinger’s goal is to reflect the connection between hunter, wild game and wild places and to emphasize hunters’ role as the world’s foremost conservationists. In the first show this month, “Bowhunting Montana Bull Elk, Part 2,” Matzinger bow hunts Big Sky Country with girlfriend Tara and close friends.

Jim Shockey’s Shock Therapy (10:00 p.m. ET): Host Jim Shockey and his guests provide special access to it all, uncut and unplugged! You thought you saw it the first time, but now Shockey takes viewers behind the scenes to learn the rest of the story of what really happened on those episodes of The Professionals, UNCHARTED and Jim Shockey’s Hunting Adventures! In this week’s episode, “Agent to Adventure,” Shockey sits down with John Dubin – a former FBI Counterterrorism Unit agent turned avid hunter and adventurer – to talk about his extraordinary journey from high-stakes law enforcement operations to unforgettable hunts in one of the most spectacular places on earth – Hawaii.

Greg McHale’s Wild Yukon (10:30 p.m. ET): Host Greg McHale brings a passionate spirit of adventure to his big-game hunts in Canada’s wild Yukon and beyond, creating intense and inspiring journeys that push him both physically and mentally. Follow McHale and his family as they create memories in the wilderness and pass on the traditions that we all love. In this week’s show, “South Island Stories: Chasing Chamois,” McHale turns his focus to the chamois of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. Spotting the unique goat-antelope in the vast, rocky terrain and then stalking into range under shifting conditions calls for persistence, good-timing, and precise shooting.

MeatEater (11:00 p.m. & 11:30 p.m. ET): Hunter, author, cook and conservationist Steven Rinella treks into the world’s most remote, beautiful places, bringing game meat from field to table. In this week’s first episode, “Montana Heritage Hunt,” Steven Rinella sets off alone with his muzzleloader; and in the second show, “Texas Turkeys,” Rinella hunts turkeys on the historic Yturria Ranch with country music artist Luke Combs.

Don’t miss the week-long bowhunting extravaganza – “Bownanza” – airing Monday (9/14), Tuesday (9/15), Wednesday (9/16), Friday (9/18) from 8:00-11:00 p.m. ET; and Saturday 4:00-7:00 p.m. ET.

Also, the “Hardest Hunts Marathon” on Saturday, 9/26, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. ET, proves that some game comes with a little extra blood, sweat and tears.
